VIA SurfBoard: reference board per netbook

Processore C7-M, chipset VX855 e consumi ridotti

VIA ha presentato oggi un prototipo da usare come riferimento per costruire schede madri per netbook in grado di gestire file ad alta risoluzione 1080p e audio ad 8 canali.

Il SurfBoard C855 è progettato per ospitare la CPU Via C7-M ULV con BUS a 800MHZ ed il nuovo chipset dedicato alla grafica HD VX855; la scheda inoltre offre supporto per risoluzioni di 1366 x 768 pixel sul monitor interno e 1920 x 1440 pixel su uno esterno e può decodificare file nei formati H.264, MPEG2, MPEG-4, WMV9 e VC1.

Non manca ovviamente il supporto a tutte le caratteristiche tipiche dei netbook attuali, come slot per hard disk HDD e SSD, massimo 2Gb di RAM, scheda wireless, card reader, ethernet e via dicendo.
