Ideapad S10: Replace Hard Disk and Memory Ram

While it is a device which is currently only prebooked here in Italy, we propose today a guide to replace the hard disk and the bench of Ram Lenovo Ideapad S10, in reality it is a 'very simple operation, given the easy accessibility components through the room for expansion, but for the less experienced, however this is a step by step guide.

First, to perform the upgrade, you need a Phillips screwdriver and course components to be updated, that is a Hard Disk with 2.5-inch SATA interface and a memory module SO-DIMM DDR2 667 Mhz.

NB: As regards Ram memory, there is a small note to make: the device is shipped with a module of 512 MB soldered on the Mother Board, accompanied by an expansion slot (which will be added another 512 MB module if buy the version with 1 GB), in which slot you can add benches 512 MB, 1 GB or 2 GB which, added to 512 MB soldered, should carry the maximum Ram memory to 2.5 GB.

However, we must inform you that the little Ideapad will support the use of up to 2 GB of memory.

First Steps

1) Place the device face down "so as to observe its fund, you will find before you a large panel anchored with two screws.

2) Even if the photo is not shown, to secure every transaction that involves contact with internal components is a good idea to disconnect the battery.

3) Remove the two screws that lock the panel and gently sollevatelo.

Replacing the hard disk

4) Put the hard disk back into place, being careful to enter the teeth of the metal cage inside the guides of homes and arrange to slip the disc in order to insert it firmly into the slot SATA.

Replacing the RAM
